2D Proportion and Construction

This week I did some more practice with 2D drawings.

These two drawings are getting some proportion practice in. The idea is that by drawing the same image inside boxes that that are drawn in the same proportions but at different scales, it is easier to draw the same image at different sizes.

Here's more proportion practice. Another trick with proportions is that if you draw loosely, you can more easily make sure everything is in the correct relative positions, which makes it just a matter of making whatever you draw is about the right size.

And finally, more practice with construction. It helps, when drawing, to add ellipses to round shapes that are meant to be 3D, since this gives you a better idea of where any details (such as eyes, mouths, etc) should be placed.

That's all for this week. See you next time!
