I switched off again to 3D work this week.
The idea for this week was to practice getting better at Blender by making increasingly complex shapes with it.
Here we have a table, a chair, a bottle, and a bowl.
The idea is that, as the exercises go on, the shapes being modeled get more and more complex. Here we have some inset cubes, a wheel, a vase, and some more inset cubes. The base was actually the trickiest thing to make of these four. I had a problem where the top of the sphere wouldn't flatten out without distorting the rest of it. Fortunately I was able to fix that.
Of these three, the shield was the hardest to make. It wasn't particularly difficult to figure out how to do, but it was tricky adjusting all the proportions -just- right so that it looked good. I'm still not completely satisfied, but it looks alright now I think.
These three are a stone wall, a wooden catwalk, and the same catwalk now with supporting posts to hold it up. None of these were particularly difficult, but the posts were the most time consuming since I felt compelled to model them individually.
That's all for this week. See you next week!
