Don't Lose Your Head

This week, I finished adding a fourth level to the game, as well as made some more tweaks to existing levels.

The first half of the fourth level is navigating a series of platforms over an open pit that will kill the player if they make a mistake.

The second half is a maze hidden inside of a mountain through the use of hidden area tiles. Parts are also blocked off by platforms that break or vanish, so a player who doesn't know which way to go might get a bit confused.

The second feature I added isn't fully complete, but it's far enough along that I can post it for Halloween.

By pressing the C button, the player will be able to detach the player character's head! Headless variations of all actions are currently implemented, up to and including the victory pose for the end of a level.

Currently, pressing C merely toggles between the two states, but the intent is to, at some point, turn the character's head into a minion that they can throw at enemies, similar to the character Miss Fortune from Skullgirls.

You can play the updated game by following the link below. Happy Halloween!
