Finally Starting Unreal Engine

This week, I mostly learned more of the controls for Unreal Engine. How to make models snap to a grid, how to rotate them, etc. However, I also changed the version of Unreal Engine that I'm using, and that has been a major help in learning how to use it.
I've also started to actually make things with it that I can show off.

This model was made by using geometry brushes to modify just two basic cubes. One was set to be normal geometry. However, the other was set to subtract geometry from other models that it intersected with. That's how the door was made. Some of the modifications made to the meshes can be done with the basic tools. However it's better to use geometry brushes. Not only are they more versatile, using the basic tools will distort any textures applied to the models, while using geometry brushes will -not- distort the textures.

Speaking of textures, here's what that model looks like with a brick wall texture attached to it. Applying textures to a model is easy. You can simply drag them onto the face of the model you want to apply them to. The textures can then be rotated, sized up or down, and their exact positioning can be tweaked so that they better line up.
That's all for this week!
