Slow Week

Due to the three day weekend and my personally not feeling very well, I didn't manage to accomplish much this week. I did learn a bit about Physically Based Rendering (or PBR), but I didn't manage to put any of it into practice.
PBR is a way of rendering light in a 3D environment in a realistic way. It involves six texture maps that add together into a single material; the base color, which contains the color information for the material; the normal map, which dictates where light will reflect; the metallic map, which shows which parts of the material are metal and which aren't; the roughness map, which shows how rough different parts of the material are; the height/displacement map, which shows the height or depth of the material; and finally the ambient occlusion map, which shows the ambient lighting of the material and usually has portions dedicated to showing where ambient shadows fall.
I also got a small start on a character turnaround for when I start modeling characters in 3D. It's not finished, and only shows the character from the front so far, but the goal is to eventually show them from every angle so that it can be used as a reference for making a 3D model.

Once I'm done with the turnaround sheet for this character, I plan on making more for other characters which I would like to see in 3D.
That's all for this week. Hopefully I will have more to show next time.
